Maple Julep

  • 6 Mint leaves (plus more for garnish)
  • 1 oz Maple Syrup
  • 3 oz Basil Hayden Bourbon

Muddle mint and syrup in the bottom of a silver julep cup or old fashioned glass.  Add crushed ice and bourbon, jiggle mixture with a bar spoon to combine.  Add more mint and a short straw.


Manhattan in Autumn

  • 2 1/2 oz Knob Creek Bourbon
  • 3/4 oz Nolly Pratt Sweet Vermouth
  • Autumn Tincture

Stir bourbon and vermouth with ice.  Spray the inside of a cocktail glass with Autumn Tinctue.  then strain the bourbon mixture into the glass.  Garnish with orange peel and cherry.

Autumn Tincture: In a small 5-6 oz empty and sanatized spice jar, place 3 cinnamon sticks,  1Tbl. ground clove, 1Tbl groung Nutmeg, 1 tsp cardimum, 4 drops pure vanilla.  Cover the mixtur with 100 proof vodka, and set aside for 3 weeks, shaking mixture at least once a day.  After maceration, strain liquid through a coffee filter into a small spray bottle (available at cooking shops, or beauty shops).
